Nancy Underwood - 2010 Delegate Report

The 57 th AORN Congress was an exciting and educational experience for me. Patrick Voight did a great job and made all of the “processes” fun with his sense of humor. Even the second House of Delegates was virtually painless though the many by-law changes and amendments.

The Forum on Sunday allowed me to evaluate the many candidates that were running for office. It truly helped with my decisions.

I was impressed with the both the Opening keynote speaker, Janet Corrigan, and the Last General Session by Charles Denham. These were really dynamic speakers that had some great information to share.

Voting was done electrically this time and , except for one little technical difficulty in the beginning, it was a much easier procedure than the hand-written ballots we used in previous years.

The other GREAT change in this year’s format was that the delegates didn’t have to miss as many CE opportunities because of the Forum and House of Delegates timing. I greatly appreciated this change
