Tammy Tenerowicz - 2010 Delegate Report

Tammy Tenerowicz
MPA, BSN, RN, CNOR
The 57th annual Congress in Denver was exceptional. Attendance was down but participation was sky high or more appropriately Mile High! Denver was an excellent host site: friendly, convenient, clean and the convention center was conducive to education and networking. The feel of being at the heart of AORN in our “home” city was inspiring. Some of the highlights of the week:
  • The chapter table as an educational introduction was great. People were interested in how our chapter works. Plus it was another opportunity to meet more eChapter people. Our place in the lineup of chapters was good for exposure and drawing people in.
  • The chapter business meeting was well done, informative and set the tone for the upcoming year. Made you feel proud to be part of a group that has so many involved, recognized and active members.
  • One Member, One Vote discussions were informative, educational and enlightening to see how many ways one thought can be viewed. The outcome was inventive, collaborative and meets the needs of the membership during financially strained times as well as allows members that would like to serve that did not have the opportunity to now can. Excellent!
  • Addressing dues is always a touchy subject and President “Please Vote Now” Voight did a great job of moderating the heated discussions. The outcome was the right thing to do, was collaborative in approach, appropriate and appreciative of our times. I will gladly pay my increase to assist in future sustainability of AORN.

It was my pleasure and honor to represent the eChapter as a delegate, thank you.
