RENEWED~~~RE-ENERGIZED~~~PROUD TO BE A PERIOPERATIVE NURSE!
While I have continued to work in the perioperative field for some 32 years, have been an advocate for AORN and a champion for certification on a local level, it has been some considerable years since I have attended National Congress and never as a delegate. What an awesome experience. It is a fabulous opportunity to get out of the trenches and network. I went alone but never felt alone. Connecting with other E-Chapter members was invigorating; what a talented group of leaders we have. I am proud to have personally witnessed the vision and engagement of our national AORN leadership team posed to face the challenges of our nation's healthcare reform issues and to guide and position us as an organization for sustainability and growth. The process of being a delegate is enlightening and with the changes we all voted for in the House of Delegates, is an opportunity now available to every member!

I know "I am back" and fueled to become more active. I encourage and challenge any of you who have been absent for awhile to take a fresh look and to mentor the next generation to become empowered and involved.

Can't wait for next year and I'm bringing a young colleague next time! See you in Philadelphia...
