I just wanted thank EChapter for the pleasure of seeing how the business process works. I have found it to be a very educational experience. It is nice to know how even the little things work, as in the call lights.
It was very nice to have Elaine with me this year, it made Congress much more enjoyable and knowing that I won't be seeing her only a few times a year. It was good to meet up with past friends and meet some new ones too. I do miss the old gang, between the economy and retirements some were not able to make it. Maybe next year! Looking at the pictures at the Scanlan party sure brought back some memories. I could see by the number in attendance both nurses and venders that the economy was hard on many in the OR and not just my friends.
I tried to get my Boss to come this year but she could not get it into her budget and could not afford to do it on her own. I am hoping to show her around next year; she will benefit from all that Congress has to offer.
The way Congress was structured this year it was hard to get to as many educational activities as I would have liked. I agree with others that I would like it to go back to the old schedule of events.
Elaine and I were fortunate to get to Chicago early enough to watch the St. Paddy's parade and see AORN's participation.
I am looking forward to next year in the mile high city and hope the economy improves so all who want to will be able to attend.
