It was an honor to represent eChapter this year at AORN 2009 Congress in Chicago. This was my first time as a delegate and my second time attending congress. It was refreshing to be part of the legislative aspect of AORN and more than made up for the lack of educational sessions available, in my opinion. The process of amending and adopting bylaws in the forums was very interesting, as well as the candidate sessions. Being a part of this process brings you a closer insight into how AORN works.
From the time I arrived in Chicago Saturday afternoon, I knew it was going to be a special week: from the St Patrick’s Day parade, the eChapter luncheon, meeting the candidates session, to the bagpipes of the opening ceremony, the forums, diamonds and denim dinner, vendors evening with Second City performers, the academic posters, to the election of the future of AORN leaders, to the closing ceremony and dinner, it truly was a special week. Getting to know people of eChapter was another highlight of the week, not to mention assisting at the eChapter booth sharing what we have to offer.
I want to thank eChapter for the opportunity to represent them at congress this year and I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Denver 2010.
